  1. WIP Portrait Painting

    I bought the Carder Method for Portraits DVD.  I am only half through listing to the video.  There are a lot of precise steps to follow.  But I am not that good at following directions.

    I am learning a great deal from the video anyway.

    Well here is my work in progress.  This portrait is from a photograph.

  4. Tell me your story….

    Art and crafting have brought me so much! Being able to complete a craft project enhances my self confidence and problem solving skills. Moreover it is just plain fun!

    Crafting and painting has helped me though some tough times also. I have often told the story about caring for my disabled son. At that time I was a divorced parent. I felt very isolated. Learning new crafts and painting helped me through this tough time. I can name other tough times in my life when I was helped by the creative process.

    I really enjoy learning a new craft. I don’t have to become great, it’s just the joy of fininshing the first small project.  I enjoy sharing in groups or classes as I learn. I have met really great people in crafting and painting classes/groups.
